Things Kids Say – On Teeth and Toe Nails
“Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away”
This past week had the same number of hours as any other week, but in terms of memories, it far surpassed any week in recent memory. From teeth to toe-nails, here are some recent family highlights to share with you and some related useful references you can check out to help you in your parenting journey.
Book Boy losing his first tooth.
While brushing his teeth, Book Boy felt something in his mouth. He pulled it out and lo and behold, he lost his first tooth!
Here are some neat stories about the Tooth Fairy!
Book Boy – “Daddy, what if I get $100 for my tooth? I’m so excited!”
Ballet Girl getting her toe nails painted for the first time.
Perhaps it was a futile attempt to preserve the innocence of youth but I finally succumbed to Ballet Girl and Clean Mom’s pleadings to get our little girl’s toes painted at age 4. (sniff…)
Here’s a good discussion board around the safety of nail polish for kids. There are also some good organic kids nail polishes out there as well.
(After getting her nails painted and continually looking at them with a bewildered gaze, she asks…)
Ballet Girl – “Mommy, did I really get my toes painted?!?”
Book Boy getting his first base hit.
When Book Boy started playing baseball, similar to his hockey experience, he was behind the other kids because he started playing one year later than most of his teammates. Regardless, he continued to work hard and practice and it paid off! Today, he hit his first base-hit (a single)!!!
(I think I even more excited that he was!)
Share your own memorable firsts, in the comments section below, that took your breath away and remember to enjoy each moment while it lasts!
