Review of Fairview Mall Food Court – Toronto

fairview_centreinfo_bannerWow, this mall has sure gone through some huge renovations since we’ve last been here!

The food court has also been expanded; here’s a summary of our recent trip and some tips for you to consider trying if you’re planning on dropping by!

Ambience:  With the renovations, Fairview is definitely catering to a higher level of shopper.  Food court was very clean (compared to other food courts) and seating was readily available… or maybe we were just lucky…

Kids Food:  Typical food court selection.  Nice surprise was a Spring Rolls Go outlet that served food from the Spring Rolls restaurant in the Mall (great Thai/Asian restaurant).  On this trip, kids chose Bourbon Street Grill and Spring Rolls Go.  We typically share our meals with the kids which cuts down costs and prevents over-eating.  Instead of buying water bottles, just ask for a glass of water and most places will oblige.

Coolest Thing About Restaurant:  Ice-cream at Purdy’s Chocolates in the upper level.  Yum!  Very nice touch was the option of adding one topping free of charge to each ice cream cone or cup.  Both kids chose candy sprinkles and Clean Mom chose to have her ice cream dipped in Chocolate…  we’ll be definitely coming back for more!

Worst Thing About Restaurant:  It’s a food court so expectations are always quite low…

Tips to consider: Aside from the water tip above, don’t fall for the more expensive options of more meat in your combo.  For example, at Bourbon Street Grill, you could pay more and get an additional meat and an additional vegetable option in your combo, but the food STILL GOES IN THE SAME CONTAINER!  So if you don’t order the extra food, you’ll still get the same AMOUNT of food, just less VARIETY…  why am I SHOUTING?  I have NO idea…

Quote from Book Boy:  “Wow Dad, look at how many restaurants there are at THIS food court!!!”

Overall Experience:  Kudos to Fairview for investing in their mall and succeeding in creating an upscale ambience to shop in.
