Review of Big Boy’s Burgers – Pickering

While the name doesn’t inspire the ‘healthy-eating’ vision that most parents are striving for, the race-car seats and the food at Big Boy’s Burgers are just like the seats … Comfy!

Ambience:  The restaurant has a whole race-car theme going on with all tables outfitted with race-car seats similar to the above picture, bright racing colours all-over and steel table tops.  Very relaxed and friendly.

Kids Stuff:  It’s a fast food joint so there’s nothing given to the kids to keep them occupied.  BPM (dance music) radio flowing over the speakers and the novelty of the decor was enough to keep the kids attention until the food arrived.

Kids Food:  I looked but I couldn’t find any kids options.  Book Boy and Ballet Girl split a Fish and Chips and it was more than enough.  Honourable mention to the Greek Salad which served as the vegetable serving for the whole family… delicious!

Coolest Thing About Restaurant:  Had to be the whole family sitting in race-car seats, cool!

Worst Thing About Restaurant:  Given racing texture on the table-tops, they weren’t extremely clean but it is a fast food joint so…

Overall Experience:  We arrived at this restaurant because we were in the Area and were desparate to feed the kids fast and get them to bed.  We instead found a place where the food met expectations and we got to experience the novelty of the restaurant’s theme.

Kids Quote: Book Boy – “This is the best Fish and Chips I’ve ever had!”
