Once you have kids, you become intimately acquainted with all the toy stores in your immediate vicinity. From Toys R Us to Mastermind Toys and from Walmart and the big department stores, there’s always a place nearby for your kids to get their toy fix.

I just heard about this and it’s quite concerning from a Dad’s perspective.
I personally don’t think children from 8 to 16 months should be spending any significant amount of time in front of the TV but I also know that the few minutes of peace and quiet (they can sometimes buy busy and frazzled parents) can be worth their weight in gold.
Note that the Canadian refund offer is not as good as the US refund offer but you may be able to get them to send a refund to a US address? Good luck!

A close friend once told me that the Nintendo DS was a major source of headaches in his family i.e. addictive, it’s all the kids do, hard to get them off, etc.. So imagine my surprise (because I’m a casual gamer) and dismay (because I’m a Dad) when grandma got Book Boy a DS for Christmas!
After thinking about what games I could buy for myself (hehe… Zelda here I come), my thoughts wandered to how the DS could be used for the forces of Good and help teach Book Boy useful things versus just being mindless entertainment.
